do i need to get the GCA card before mailing my CMP order?

since inlands are back in, i made the plunge and joined the GCA. i mailed them $ two weeks ago but haven't heard from them yet.

now the renewal date is sept. 1.

I REALLY don't want to pay $25 then pay another $25 a week later.

but ill deal with that if i can get my order for carbines in.

no word yet though.

do i really have to wait, or does GCA send word electronically to cmp ahead?

I believe that the CMP will query the GCA directly regarding your membership.

However, the latest post on the CMP forum indicates that the remaining Inlands are sold. Hope you made the cut!

GCA and CMP

According the the guy I spoke with at GCA, they notify CMP of membership weekly. I downloaded the membership form, filled it out and faxed it to the number they gave me an 3 days later, got my membership info, magazines, and mem. card. Sweet.

Check the GCA website. It states they transmit weekly GCA membership info to the CMP. There are plenty of other groups you can join besides the GCA. I joined the Nebraska Marksmanship Association for $5. There should be a list on the CMP site. Good luck, I mailed my Garand order on Monday! w00t service grade!

If I recall you must check a box on your application if you want the CMP notified of your membership by GCA.
