Recently I found nikko Stirling 1" targetmaster 5-20x50 mildot sfp scopes on sale from 330-350(ish) online for a very low price and picked up a pair for 262.... mounted one on the .243 and sighted in and went out plinking a few more rounds for fun and thus far (total is only 10/12 rds) is holding zero nicely, have yet to really stretch her legs though but am hoping to remedy that later today to see how well those target knobs return to zero after a few longer shots.... as far as clarity, I find the picture to be nicer than the low end Nikon models I've found in the $1-300 range....here's the question now, I've heard good and bad about nikko and it seems that the input varies from person to person and model to model, dare I trust the spare on my 300 wm? I'm not looking for vague glass Nazi disparagements about nikko, I want to know if the targetmaster is durable to take the recoil, a couple jolts here and there (sometimes the 300 is just more fun to punch through the varmints whilst checking cows) and overall hunting wear and tear. On a side note, the seller advertised a 30mm tube and mildot but I received a one inch half mil, not complaining saved me having to get bigger rings just a heads up... manual says to range on 10x and on 20x I can watch the deer fart around 1000 yards with ease off my back door, from previous ranging practice I know that the scope ranging at 10x is not any sort of lie.

Well, its a China scope. China scopes are a total crapshoot. One scope might work great, the next scope might explode into a tiny nuclear anti gravity black hole. Its impossible to say. I've had good and bad luck with Chinese optics. I've NEVER trusted them though.

Often times, the reason people go with name brand scopes is because they have the name standing behind it. If a $200 Leupold fails, you know its covered. If a $300 Nikko Shanghai scope fails, will they stand behind it?

They do come with a lifetime warranty, and I've heard that they replace faulty items quickly, should I have to exercise that warranty I'll share my experience here certainly!
