The next big case is Palmer, where Alan Gura is challenging D.C.'S ban on carry permits.
Palmer is awaiting a summary judgment decision by the District Court.
Do we want a win or a loss at the District Court?
A loss might be better because it could be appealed.
A win could be a problem because it might prompt DC to amend its regulations in a way that would pass muster and at the least it would delay resolution.
I know that you should not look a gift horse in the mouth, but a win at the local level might not be in our interest.
