Do you have to go through an FFL to buy a shotgun?

I know if buying a handgun from someone out of state it can only be shipped to an FFL (thus requiring a transfer fee) but is it the same for shotguns?

Might seem like a dumb question but just curious.

Yeap, handgun, shotgun, rifle, all the same. Unless it's black powder.

Yep, need an FFL on the receiving end for out of state transfers.
