Do you load 200 grain RNFs for .40S&W?

I ordered some 180 grain RNFs and converted my Dillon Square Deal today from 9mm to my new .40S&W/10mm to load some brass.

When I opened the box of bullets I had ordered, I found 200 grain bullets. The packing slip is long gone and the online order I printed is at the office. I got a bottle of Clays to work up a 180 grain load with, but that's too fast for the 200 grains, don't see it listed Clays in any of my manuals for 200 grains.

Does anyone have Min-Max information for any powders you've used for 200 grain bullets for .40S&W?

If I can hear of something that shoots good groups I might not send them back.

I'd be shooting them in a Smith & Wesson Model 610 until/unless I get a conversion barrel for a Glock20.

I shoot a lot of 200 gr in 40, bot no Clays. My carry load is a 200gr XTP with near max load of VV N105. Rare hard to find powder, but defineely takes the 40 into medium/high 10mm ballistics.

List the powders you have, and I may have data.

I'd like to save the N340 for my 10mm 135 grain Gold Dots

The AA#2 is listed in the Sierra manual under the 190 grain jacketed FPs, 4-1 to 5.3 grains

Clays is listed as well for the 190s, but only 3.2 grains to 4.7max.

American Select isn't listed, but it's burn rate is close to AA#2.

I use AA#7 for my 180 grain 10mm- 11 grains and for .357 magnum. That's going to be relatively expensive to load, but I'm sort of leaning that way if it'll meter thru the Dillon. I'm wondering if the faster powders will work as well with the low volume used in the brass.

I tried 200 grainers in my wife G22 and it wouldn't stablize that heavy bullet. I tried 3 or 4 powders and all different combos and over half of them would key hole. I would have to look and see if I still had the load data for these loads. Are these lead RN or what. just asking cause you said you wouldn't shoot them in your glock without a different barrel.

Why don't you get some 10mm brass and load them for the 610? That's what I use in mine.

Of the powders you list, I have used AA7 with moderate accuracy and velocity, and N340 with very good accuracy but not nearly the velocity in VV literature.

I actually got the excellent accuracy with IMR 800X, but it was very dirty. The pressures for the max load were so ridiculously low that I increased the OAL (carefully because to much will yield FF) and upped the load. WARNING! DANGEROUS TO EXCEED MAXIMUM LISTED LOAD. It was a mild shooting accurate load in the + 950fps range.

VV N105 was very clean and accurate with velocities below their listed velocity, but still around 1100fps.

It would be a .40S&W conversion barrel for the G20. It can be used with lead, but these are jacketed. My G20 barrel is a KKM aftermarket barrel. I shoot a lot of Precision Bullet moly coated lead 180s.

Why don't you get some 10mm brass and load them for the 610? That's what I use in mine.

I will. But I have 1700 primed and sized .40S&Ws I've picked up and prepped. I was hoping to use 180's in them but received the 200s.
