I just recieved a Streamlight M-3 for my 23. I use this gun as my home defense peice. It seems to me that I should shoot it with the M3 hooked on for realistic practice. Is there any real problem with leaving the light on for regular practice? or should I just leave it off? Thanks for the help.

From what I have read the problem with doing too much shooting with your M3 attached is you will start to have some powder buildup on the lens of the light. I have heard that some people will spread something greasy on the lens to keep the powder residue from building. If you didn’t need the light I think I would just put a piece of tape across the end of light. That would keep it from getting hazy.
