Do you shoot revolvers with cartridges packed in real black powder

Some localities have different storage regulations for Black Powder than they do for Smokeless powder.

Because of this, many stores that sell Smokeless Powder do not carry real Black Powder. They do not want to have to deal with the local storage regulations. One shop that I used to regularly buy Black Powder from stopped carrying it because of this.

Generally speaking, the BP substitutes are often available at stores that carry Smokeless Powder because the storage regulations are the same as for Smokeless.

Q1- I reload to bring the cost of my hobby down somewhat. I spend just as much as I did before but get more bang for my buck so to speak.

Q2- 45-70, 45 colt, 455 webley, 38 special, 357 magnum (rarely), 12 gauge, 16 gauge, 32-20 and 44-40

Q3 3Fg/2Fg

Q4 45-70 gets 405 or 500 gr lead pills.
45 colt gets 150-275 grain lead (also load her w/smokeless regularly).
455 webley same as the colt.
38/357, 32-20 & 44-40 I use regular store bought lead projectiles and replace lube with BP lube.

I load, when I do black powder in .45 Colt, 25 grains of GOEX 3fg, a 45 caliber felt wad, and a 200 grain LFN slug. If I use a 180 grain LFN bullet I use two felt wads, to ensure there is no air gap. Since the ammunition was/is to be used in my revolvers AND my replica '92 lever-action rifle (real '92's weren't chambered in .45 Colt) I normally use the 200 grain LFN as the rifle really likes that slug.
