Picked up a nice Model 10 at the local gunshop, needs a reblue but it's solid and nice otherwise.

Can anyone tell me when it was made?

    Serial # D736xxx
    Model 10-6

Also, can you use +P in it?

    chrisf8657 - The SCSW 3rd lists SN's D659902 - D75000 as manufactured from 1974 to 1975. The 10-6 was produced from 1962 to 1977.

Looks like if your gun was made after 1958 it's ok to shoot +P :)

You can write Roy Jenks at S&W and for $30 :(he will send you back a letter stating what day the gun was shipped from the factory and where it was sent to.
