Todd, I always thought of a doctor's knife as having two blades, one of which was a spatula.

Not always, there are some single blades. Like you say most with two blades, the second one is a spatula blade.

No, you're good.

I "ran out" and looked at a bunch of vintage and new and found the single blade pattern you used. Surprised me. Learn something new every day!

Now I have to find what the purpose of the spear point blade was.

The Doctor's Knife, also known as the Pillbuster, can be configured as a single blade or double blade. When configured as a double blade, the second blade is either a spatula, as already mentioned, or a smaller pen blade.

That mammoth ivory is something. It looks almost like wood. What does it feel like?

The long nail nick is neat.

It feels smooth, if you closed your eyes and I handed it to you? You would not really know what it was? Wood? Ivory or Micarta?

Spot on! Thanks! Some day may try a double blade, right now I like making single blades mostly.
Thanks again for the replies.
