interesting.

islamic medical student.
has web site glorifying islamic terrorism.
loaded ak47 in park.

seems there were some other recent cases where islamic doctors were involved in terrorism.

its not like these people are rural bumpkins fooled by the local mullah into engaging in terrorist activities, as some would have us believe.

Wonder how long it'll take someone to jump in and defend this guy. Something tells me not as quickly as the last guy arrested for just walking around with an AK clone.

Dressed in black face in black clothes in a park with an AK clone?

A little silly, yes, but it makes me wonder what he was planning on doing...?

Why is the fact that he's an Arab significant, more relevant is that his website shows obvious sympathies or even allegiances with violent Islamic supremacy groups.

It seems this was almost a non-story. Didn't the reportereven say that the mayor did not want people to associate this with 9/11. The truth probably is the mayor wants to assure his/her reelection by not offending Muslims in Deaborn, therefore keeping the story quiet as long as possible.

It seems obvious that this was in likelihood related to 9/11, and to the rest of Islamic terrorism around the globe. Rifle in public park in an urban setting, blacked out face, dark clothing, terroristic style website - sure sounds like a wanna be sniper or berserker to me. I certainly would like to know the ethnic make up of the people who frequent that specific park and neighborhood, and also if there are any other likely targets such as government buildings, big name hotels, synagogues, around that area.

All the best,
GlennB

That's bizarre, a little disturbing and all, but it hardly qualifies as terrorism.

Nobody at all would be terrified unless they caught him or he opened fire, and quite seriously, if we're scared of a possible plot that failed to materialize, then we've lowered the bar for successful terrorist attacks haven't we?

I'd like to see what develops of this, but only as a curiosity, not as an alarm.

I can already hear Dianne Feinstein saying how the terrorists are buying eeevvviiilll semi-auto assault machine guns ~with the shoulder thingy that goes up~ so that they can kill our babies. Ban them, BAN THEM, BAN THEM!!!:barf:

I believe the second clause of your sentence answers the question asked by the first. I don't believe any of the airliners on 9/11/01 were hijacked by Baptists.

I don't like it. We have had a number of near misses in the last few months.

I am glad people are more vigilant since 9/11 but our run of good luck likely won't last forever.

I may sound defeatist but I am simply a realist.

I slam
You slam
We all slam for Islam!

That's pretty funny.

Sounds like the guy must have been a wanabi. Whcih is sort of like a Wahabi, except they grew up in an affluent suburb of america, but imagine themselves to be all big and bad.

I'm a muslim, and a gun owner, but I'm not an extremist, and if I were I wouldn't write about it online or go hide out in the park with a rifle waiting to be found. That's stupid in extremis.

The man may simply have serious emotional issues. I think we all need a lot more information before conclusions can be drawn.

I think we've made enough religious jokes....:fire:

You might want to start a new thread and try to keep it on the High Road.
