Doe With Small Fawn

Sorry no pics but I was driving when I saw a small doe running in a field by what I thought was a chihuahua dog chasing the doe. When I got close enough I realized it was a fawn as I was barely able to see the white spots.

Swapped cards on that camera on my friends property this afternoon. Got some more of what is probably the same fawn as my previous posts. Same camera in the same location. Funny part is that I STILL haven't personally seen any fawns. This must be some kind of record for me. Have a trail cam in the woods next to me also and get an occasional doe picture but still no fawns on that one yet. Here's what is probably the same fawn as before except it seems to be growing a bit......... . WGI_1299.JPG ... WGI_1320.JPG ... WGI_1330.JPG ... WGI_1399.JPG ... WGI_1401.JPG ...Let's hope "Bambi" is a male. Let's hope Bambi grows up to be a big racked buck. Let's hope that someday I get to harvest him, LOL.

I saw a doe leading three (3!) fawns across a baseball field in the middle of New RIchmond, WI, yesterday. they walked within 5 feet of a couple in a car, they had their phones out taking pics, I wasn't quick enough.

Finally saw my first fawn in person at about 6:15 this morning. July 1st has got to be the latest I ever saw my first one. Have no idea why so late, but there I was on the deck in my underwear, LOL, ( I knew they wouldn't be there long enough for me to get dressed), to catch the picture of the doe with two fawns when the fawns suddenly bolted into the woods. Got a shot of the second one running into the woods and then a shot of momma who was still standing there. I keep the Canon Rebel with the telephoto lens on it handy for sudden photo opportunities like this... IMG_9092.JPG ... IMG_9095.JPG ..There's a trail cam in those woods that I'll check out later.

Update: Just checked the trail cam in those woods next to the house. Got a couple pics from this morning less than an hour after the photos in my previous post. Got one with mom and one of the fawns "posing" in front of the trail cam. Had a couple fawn shots that were blurred because fawns seem to be almost always in motion but here's the best of several... Checked that cam next to the house today and as usual got a pic yesterday of a fawn in motion. Fawns on my friends property all seem to be standing still when the shutter clicks. Here they're always in motion when they go by the trail cam. But at least this time it's not all blurry even though it appears to be travelling pretty quickly...... WGI_0205.JPG
