Yes, I carry a Walther P22 in the waste band of my workouts when I run. Monday evening I had an inresting experence while I was out running and was glad to have it. The situation was resolved more or less peacfully. No harm no foul.
22s are almost never very reliable through autos except possibly large targetguns. That's why few people carry them except in revolvers. That's basically why the 25 was ever designed.
I carry a SW 617; 10 shot revolver, 6" barrell; plinking and squirrels, in the woods only. It's a tack driver and lots of fun to shoot. Huge..too big for younger grandkids.
I sometimes carry a S&W Model 22A while hunting. Popped a groundhog with it once. Very reliable with higher quality ammo, 0 FTF or jams while using Remington 22 Cyclone ammo.
I sometimes carry my Sig Mosquito Concealed, when I need to leave the Glock 23 at home with my wife...I really need a better gun for that purpose though.
I carried several of them, years ago, as a BUG, and went to a Beretta 950 .25 after all of them proved to be unreliable, some never fired more than one shot at a time. The .25 may be a really weakling cartridge, but at least it works.
My wife carries a Walther P22 and wouldn't hesitate unloading 10 rounds in 2 seconds into any attacker. She really is that fast and accurate... It's almost scary.
I'll stick to my large caliber autos and double tap... That should be quite enough.
Taurus PT 22 in left front pocket in an Uncle Mikes holster, Hundreds of CCI standard vel. through it w/o a single malfunction. Close range gun & it hits where I aim. Light , flat & 10 rounds. I do cary a 442 S&W as my primary but if needed the Taurus has fit the bill on many occasions.
CCW isn't legal in public places here in Illinois for the common man.
While roaming around on my own property, I regularly carry either a Smith and Wesson 2214 or a Walther PP in .22LR.
I also carry a Kel-Tec P32
