Does anyone have a DSA FAL with the adjustable AR style rear sight?

If so, how hard is it to turn the elevation knob? I recently got one, and the elevation knob is very difficult to turn. Much harder than on an AR. There is a threaded hex head screw on the top of the site and if i loosen it some, I can adjust the elevation knob, but it is still difficult.

Is this normal?

Also, I have disassembled the sight and put it back together. It now seems to work a little better, but not much. There is a small ball bearing on the fits between the bottom of the elevation knob and the lower reciever. There are two small indents on the lower receiver. Does the ball bearing fit into the indent that has the spring in it? or in the other one?

I have one. Yes, it was hard to turn. It was also completely dry when I disassembled it. The parkerized and anodized finished were very rough.

It was a learning experience to take it apart and lube it well (I used an M16A2 armorers manual as reference). However with a light coating of FP10 on everything and Lubriplate white grease on the springs, balls and threads, it smoothed up a bit after working it up and down a few times.

The hex screw accessed from the top locks the wheel and the numbered range ring together. If you back it out, you can calibrate the dial. It should be tight enough to stay put, but not too tight to bind the wheel. You could keep it fairly loose and use locktite to keep it in place.

Every ball should be spring loaded, so yes it fits in the hole with the spring in it.
