Does Anyone Like Ruger Single Actions?

I have 5 Rugers, 2 are SA. A Bearcat for grandkids and a 1984 stainless Single Six 22lr/22mag with box and receipt from Turners in Southern CA.

I don't know how many Ruger SAs I've owned in the past 59 years, but they've covered about every factory caliber in which they were offered. Favorites: dad's 200th year SS 357, my Super Single Six, my 3 screw Super, my 45/45 convertible, and my 44 Special Blackhawk.

I am at an even dozen of them, actually six identical pairs of them. Two 30 carbine, four 357--two that are 357/9MM, four that are 45 Colt--two of them are large frame 45 Colt/45 ACP, and two 44 MAG SBH 0ne 10 inch and one 8 inch. All but the 30 carbine ones are stainless steel.

The one that posted that the revolver is dying in that other thread has forgotten that they are the original and still the best point and click problem solver.:D

Although I've owned at least three Ruger SA's (and a MKI semi-auto) ..........I.....Ah.......now own a Ruger (look-a-like?), Heritage Rough Rider .22 LR / .22 Mag. SA Combo !

Please don't take offense, I still hold Ruger in very high esteem .:)

I owned two 45 Colt original Vaqueros a few decades ago when I did Cowboy Action Shooting. I sold them when I had to quit Cowboy Action shooting due to back problems. I just bought a New Blackhawk Flattop 45ACP/45 Colt a few months ago and love it. Just a fun gun to shoot. I missed having a revolver so now the fun is back!! Here's a picture of it.

The best foundation for a custom as far as I am concerned. Here is my .45 Colt Bisley, that started life as a Williams Shooter Supply dealer exclusive in .45 Colt. Now it sports a six-shot oversized cylinder, a 5 1/2-inch banded Shilen barrel, Claro walnut grips and a whole lot of massaging.

Probably the last revolver I'll give up is my .357 high gloss New Vaquero with a 4 5/8" barrel. It's my woods bumming gun, and I shoot it well.

Crazy reliable.

I have developed quite an affinity for the Ruger SAs. Single-Seven (.327 Fed Mag), Single-Six (.17HMR), and two Blackhawk flattops (in 9mm/.357 and in .45acp/.45Colt). Beautiful, functional, accurate... what's not to like?

I only have 2, a .357 Blackhawk convertible and a Super Single Six convertible both with 6 inch barrels purchased in the early/mid 70's.
And they are still the ones that I can shoot better than anything else I own.

Who did the grips?

I only got 3-
A 1973 357 convertible
A 1989 ss single six convertible
And a 1950's blue flatgate sn #10×× in original box. Got it from a little old widow lady in the early 70s when her husband passed. Doesn't look like it's been fired hardy any.
I would like to have a 45 colt blackhawk as I don't have enough arms to reload for now:eek:

17cal 6.5" Single Six
44mag Super Blackhawk Hunter
45colt 3.75" BirdHead
44mag 3.75" BirdHead
And two DA
22cal 4.2" SP101
357 4" GP100
All of them stainless
Love my Rugers

Ruger Like 'em or Not ?

I am not enamored by their DA's.

Really liked Ruger's SA's ! Previously owned A Single Six (.22 only), also an original BearCat (brass trigger guard / alloy frame) .22 LR, and a Blackhawk (.357 / 9mm cylinders) Magnum. Liked all three of 'em, very much (especially the latter) !!! Times being what they were then, I no longer own them.:(

Not to be on Ruger's "Bad List", but being on a retired senior citizen's budget, the only SA revolver I own is a Heritage Rough Rider .22 / .22 Magnum Combo !
Is that bad, or what ?

Sorry, Ruger ! I still lov....., errrrrr, ......, I mean,.... ahhh ........ I mean, "LIKE" you immensely !:D

Oh, I forgot the Ruger Mark I in a safe place !

I've never owned a ruger I didn't like
I believe that covers it well. Some time ago I let a nice 22 LR / 22 Mag Single Action Six get away from me. That won't happen again. :) While I like all Ruger I have been wanting to add to my 22 revolvers. I have two S&W Model 17 guns so maybe I'll part with one of them. Then too, maybe I will just grab a Single Action Six. :)
