I am looking for better load data than what I have found, which is basically none for 9mm 115 gr round nose.
I have reached out to Winchester but I am tired of waiting for their response.
Based on info from Berry's I can use the load data for any copper plated or jacketed bullet of the same weight.... Trouble is I can't find any Autocomp load data for jacketed or plated in 115 grains.
I have posted all of my trials and errors in another thread so I don't need to go through all of the details here.
I am up to 5.2 to 5.4 grains and they function perfectly. I am just wanting reassurance that I am in the right range. The only close reference is for lead round nose and the loading data was 4.4 to 5.1 and only caused stovepipes and FTE's
Thanks for any help.

Just use the Hodgdon data for 115 gr Speer GDHP and adjust you COL as needed to fit your barrel. Your COL should be a tad longer.

My manuals are i another room but I have used WAC with all kind of 9mm bullets.

If you want to contact someone it would be Hodgdon. Call them but they are closed Fridays.

This is from Hodgdon's reloading data.
Winchester AutoComp .355" 1.125" 5.1 1,078 28,200 PSI 5.6 1,161 32,500 PSI
BULLET WEIGHT 115gr.
OAL 1.125"

It won't format correctly here so you will need to look at the link.

I don't think you can shoot one of todays plated bullets in a 9mm Luger to fast to do anything wrong. Most all have a speed limit of 1250fps or higher.

Berry's told me COL of 1.130 so that combined with your info is fantastic. I am right where I should be then.
Winchesters site only lists the 2 loads. I appreciate the help.

Thanks!

I didn't use Autocomp with the Berry's 115 gr. RN. But used CFE Pistol. I took the COAL from Western Powders for their loads of this bullet, which was 1.140".

For the 115 gr. Speer Gold Dot load with CFE Pistol, Hodgdon listed. The max load is 5.9 gr. with 1185 fps.

With the Berry's using CFE Pistol at 1.140", I worked up to a load with 5.6 gr. CFE Pistol, getting an average of 1134 fps. I felt this load to be on the safe side of near max.

For the Speer bullet, in CFE Pistol, max 5.9 gr. (31,800 psi), Berry's (my) max, 5.6 gr. -.3 gr.

For the Speer bullet, in Autocomp, max 5.6 gr. (32,500 psi), Berry's (yours) max, 5.4 gr. -.2 gr.

Not sure if that is any help, but thought I would throw it out there. :)

What are you trying to achieve?

If you are trying to get the maximum velocity out of it, then I suggest you get a chrono and see where you are at before going higher than 5.4gr.

If you are looking to make a certain power factor, then again I would suggest you chrono your loads.

If you are just trying to get the best accuracy out of it, then just work it up until you see the best accuracy, and stop if you are not sure you can or want to go higher. Rather be safe than sorry.

I am just trying to make sure that I am within the safe load criteria. I am brand new to all of this and I am trying to double and triple check my figures. I began to doubt myself and wanted the best possible information.

I have been loading Berry's 115 gn RN 9mm bullets with Autocomp for two years. I am using a load of 5.2 gn and a COL of 1.130". I load these for target shooting. I have shot thousands of them through a Glock 19 and a M&P shield with no failures of any kind. I worked up this load starting with 4.6gn and worked up to 5.3 gn. On the lowest end I had failures to eject. At 5.0 the pistols cycled ok but the brass was badly charged. I settled on 5.2. Please note that I do not have a Chronograph and I have only been handloading for a little over two years.

Thank you Mike44. You have exactly confirmed my thoughts. I am also shooting a 19 and a 34. Anything at 5.2 or above has worked really well. Actually today at the range they were really snappy. It is like shooting factory XTP or Hornady Critical Defense. I wish my PAD would load consistently. 5.2 is what I am shooting for. I am still having to weigh every charge. It is all starting to make sense thanks to all of the good folks like you here.
Thank you.

I'm glad to help.

I assume that PAD is Pro Auto Disk. It can be made to work consistently. This is a well known challenge so search this forum for tips on its use. Try coating the insides with graphite. If you need a charge that doesn't match a hole in a disk, put a setscrew in the next larger hole so that you can drop the charge you need. Searching this forum will turn up other tips.

While I have moved most of the calibers I handload to a Hornady Lock-N-Load press, I load 38 specials on my Lee turret press with the PAD and get consistent loads.
