I just picked up a Versa Max II for my new Hi Power and I am completely impressed with it. The gun carries easier than the current IWB set up I have for my J Frame. I know the cost is high but aside from this is there anyone who does not like this holster. This is like a godsend for carrying large guns. I also have a Belt Man which I am sure helps greatly as well.

As reluctant as I was to get quality leather in the past I dont know why people dont fork out and get some good stuff. Granted there are a ton of options out there and there are for sure some equal options to the Milt Sparks for less money but thing works bar none.

I have no experience with that particular holster, but I am continually amazed at the number of people who spend $500-$800 - often more - on a handgun meant for full time CCW and then look for the cheapest possible holster. While there are "good value for the money" makers out there, for the most part this is false economy. A quality holster can be obtained for as little as 10% of the cost of the handgun, and a complete carry rig (holster, belt and spare ammo carrier) for 20 or 25%.

That's some nice holster. Wish I could afford one, but then I'd have to give up my old custom leather companion for my old Hi Power.

I like the Versa Max because it pioneered what I think is the best IWB holster design (dual loops, one on each side of the gun).

What I don't like about the Versa Max is that I prefer clips to loops and there are just a ton of similar holsters that are just as well made for half the cost. The offerings from Ugly Bald Guy are a good example.

the optional plastic tuckable clips will break if you over exend them but they are easy enough to replace. It's an extremely fine IWB holster.

Somebodyis always taking a big wee-wee on enthusiasm in general. Good review. I've had mine for a number of years and while the leather (horsehide) has developed cracks from environmental factors, the stitching is completely intact.

Cost of Milt Sparks is nothigh when you compare it with similar quality leather. Even Kydex now are expensive. You just add $20-30 you already have a Milt Sparks VM2 that you will never get wrong. It's the hoster that if you don't like ti you can sell it on ebay more expensive than you spend on it. I don't know any holster that can do that except for Milt-Sparks Versa Max 2. Yeah it is that good!

I have a VMII for a 1911 Officers Model. Waited 6 months for it, eagerly anticipating it. It's a wonderful product, very well-made, but I guess I'm too fat to wear it comfortably. I found the IWB design to be a pain to put on and off, and no matter how tight I cinched my belt, the holster broke the grip of my belt/pants, and my pants fall down all the time.

I have much better luck and comfort just using my Beltster holster, which is a very heavy-duty 1-3/4" leather gun belt with a holster built in. And FWIW, that's the same belt I was using the VMII with, so don't blame my droopy-pants woes on a cheap belt. For ME and my needs, the Beltster is perfect. The VMII is in a drawer.
