I really like these little guns and was thinking of getting one for pocket carry. Only it won't be much lighter than my current pocket gun.

MK9 owners how well do you like your gun for pocket carry?

I like mine very much although it is a little heavy. That is not a bother, BUT you will absolutely need a pocket holster.

I often pocket carry my MK9 (in a pocket holster). How it works depends on which pocket we're talking about. It works well in a coat pocket, for situations where you'll be keeping the coat on for the entire outing. For pants pockets, it depends on the "fit" of the pants, and the depth of the pocket. I don't care to carry the MK in the front pocket of baggy pants with deep pockets; there is too much "thigh slap" while walking at a good pace. For snug fitting pants (such as jeans), I carry the MK in my back pocket (palm to butt draw), with an untucked shirttail. The gun is high enough, so as not to interfere with sitting, but almost impossible to draw while seated.

Bottom line: if the gun is secure enough, you don't notice it's weight; if the gun to too free to move, the weight becomes annoying.

I carried the MK9 for awhile in the pocket in a simple pocket holster. I got a PM9 to replace it in that role. World of difference. My PM9 is 100%. I load with with standard velocity 115gr HP. Good control.
If I wanted to carry hot +P or +P+, I would stay with the SS version though.

Kahr also makes a PM-40 now too.

I won't buy a PM9 because of all the frame and other problems they're having, and yes I do plan to carry a +P or +P+. Specifically 124gr. 9mm NATO or 127gr./115gr. Ranger's depending on time of year and what mood I'm in. :D

I don't like the .40 round.

Oh boy guys! I was just looking on Kahr's website and it appears there's a new version. The "Elite 2003". Hmmmmmmm....cool. Looks like their's been a couple changes, including a beveled magwell.

I've got an Elite 2000, very nice indeed. No beveled magwell on mine, but the same smooth trigger. The 2003 is pricey, I picked up mine NIB last Dec. from Adco for $500. Kahr makes great guns; I like it better than my Kimber.

I guess I'll be waiting a little while longer until some Elite 2003's are in the channel. I really want that bevelled magwell for quick mag changes. I wonder if they made any strength updates regarding +P ammo? I know the older ones were already +P+ rated, but it would be interesting to know what changes they've made.

I'm still interested in opinions of people who pocket carry them. Anybody else who does, please let us know your likes and dislikes. I'm sort of worried about lint even with a pocket holster.

I pocket carry a Kahr MK40, usually with the +1 magazine holding 6 rounds. It is heavier than the PM series, but with greater controllability and reliability. I carry with a Don Hume pocket holster. I would not consider carrying without a good holster that covers the trigger. My dog has often hit my gun with his feet.

I use to carry the MK9 in a pocket holster when wearing jeans. Any lighter clothing and the gun is too heavy. I got it for ankle carry to replace a Walther PPK, for that it is great. I sit here now with a Kahr P9 Covert in my pocket, much more comfortable than the MK9.
