Does anyone still use buckshot?

hell yes, i use buckshot. works for me every time.
Biggest 8-pointer I killed was with Grandad's 870 Wingmaster with only 2 3/4" shell chamber. Shot one dead on the spot with a standard 12 gauge 00 buck at 22 yards from my stand oct 10, 2010 never forget the way it dropped = dead

I was on a drive hunt in Livingston, Alabama where those on stands were only allowed shotguns with buckshot because of the beaters behind the deer driven to our stands.

I dropped a 6 point buck in his tracks at 65 yards with three buckshot to the heart. That buck dropped like a truck had hit him.

I save my buckshot in 00 for vermin trying to break into my house...pump 12 gauge, if the racking of the slide dont scare em off, getting hit with a lethal dose of buck should do it,
That appears to be the best usage of buck shot at this time in many ways. Spread and penetration limit it to close quarters only. For home defense, it has much more knock down power than a handgun but it does not have the over penetration issues of many hand guns. I have two 20 ga shotguns in my bedroom and my .357 magnum in SP101. The shotgun should be my first choice if God forbid I ever need it.

Nice ten point John!

Roll Tide!
Thanks. Bad camera angle that I had not noticed until you said 10. Actually 11 points. There is a 3 incher on his right side near the horizontal tine. I guess I need to make a better picture so I can brag to the fullest extent. ;)
