If you use one are you happy with it. Is it a worthwhile investment? I will be trickling into a funnel with a drop tube to the pan.
 
Yes, and yes if you want/need that kind of precision/repeatability. The auto trickler is awesome if you plan to load 100/200 at a time. You don't have to though, I have hand trickled loads as well.
