Does anyone use/have Conceal Carry Jacket?

Pros and cons. I have used the vest type before. Firstly, it weighs the outer garment down. You really have to keep it snapped, buttoned, or zipped around the waist at least. Secondlky, if you get into a confrontation, and the thing isn't secured, it can get stripped, which IMO, is much harder to do with a strong side carry weapon. You can't fight with a jacket pulled down on your arms. Ask me how I know.

So, I'd say no. But if it is for a light bug, then maybe. Just another weapon, of which you can never carry enough.

On the first page of your included URL is shown the Coronado Safari vest which I have worn for about six years. At the outset I must comment on the excellent quality of Coronado gear (makes the high price worth it) and the vest is simply outstanding as a method of carrying a concealed carry weapon. The concealed carry pockets on this vest will accomodate a full size 1911 with no problem at all and will not bulge or print in any way. Carry anything smaller and it simply disappears.

While I have not worn a jacket by Coronado I have handled them and they are simply jacket versions of the vests. A word of caution though. Because of the high quality of my vest it tends to be quite heavy. I would certainly choose a lighter leather the next time.

Unused Vest

I have owned a Coronado vest for several years and have rarely used it. It is top quality but heavy and soon gets too hot in most indoor environments or in a car. What do you do with the weapon once you take off the vest at say a friend’s house? It is difficult to maintain control of the firearm unless you are wearing the vest and you must have some other way to carry the weapon once the vest is off.

I also have a cloth vest with a holster that suffers from the same problems and as such never gets used.

Coat no...various vets yes. Some are great...sporty to dressy. Some are obviously for carry...clear give-away to on-lookers.

+1 Derby FALs
I have the Sig jacket and I wear it (and carry in it) every day. I can carry my full size P220 all the way down to my S&W 642 in it. Speed of draw isn't as fast as a IWB or belt carry, but it conceals without any printing or any possibility of showing. It's ambidexterous, or you can carry two guns - one on each side. They are also extremely warm. You can get them on eBay as well as from Sig. They are a little bit cheaper on eBay.

+1 for the Sig jackets. I got mine around Christmas and carried in it until things warmed up around here. Not super fast like 1BLINDREF said, but a good CCW platform.

I believe "chris in va" acquired one of the Sig jackets back around the holidays. If he should miss this post you could always send him a PM to see how he likes it.
