Does anyone want a Howa 1500 in 8x57mm?

Unfortunately, I don't have one because Howa doesn't make one.

But I'd really like one. I've been giving Legacy Sports (the importer) a call every once in a while to try and convince them to convince the Japanese at Howa to chamber the rifle in 8x57mm Mauser. They're going to produce it in 6.5/.284, but don't offer it in 8mm. Bummer. (Although I do think that the 6.5/.284 is a great cartridge, the Howa is already offered in 6.5x55mm. What about 8mm Mauser, for which there is a million tons of cheap ammo available (just like the 6.5/.284, NOT).

It probably doesn't hurt to express a desire for this rifle in 8mm Mauser to the importer (if positively done). If you are interested, try asking them for one.

And there is lots of "better" stuff out there that is almost as cheap.

Get some while it's available, and enjoy it later when it's not...

I've been hearing that the Turk ammo is about gone now for probably 5 years. But just in case, I should warn everyone that the Turk stuff is super-mega corrosive and will eat clean thru your barrel if you so much as chamber a round in your gun. now where did I put that AIM Flier?
