Does Beretta still make the AL390?

Does Beretta still make the AL390? I know you can get a version ot it at Wal-Mart that has the synthetic stock but I am trying to find one with a wood stock. I know that Beretta now makes the AL391 but they cost more than I want to spend new. ANyone know where I could find a wood stock AL390 new? Thanks for the help.

The answer is yes and no.

They make the 3901 American, which is essentially a US-made 390. It's available in three field grades, a small-stature target version, and as a slug gun.

Two field models and the target model have wood stocks.

Prices are substantially lower than the 391.

ArmedBear is 100% correct. I talked to the guys at the Beretta booth at the SHOT show and this is exactelly what they told me. The guy then took both the 390 and the 391 apart and explanined all the differences. I was pretty impressed.

FWIW, the gas system on the 390 is (IMO) a whole lot easier to clean in the real world, and the advantages of the 391 seem pretty theoretical. We have a pair of 390s and I've never had any desire to "upgrade" to a 391.

I know this sounds bad, but, a 303 is ten times better than a 390 or 391. SUPER easy to clean and reliable as it gets. I have several 390's and 3 391's and still wish I could get a synthetic camo stock for a 300/301/302-B-80/303/ AL-2.
