does Midway USA repackage all bullets in their own box?

I ordered these Hornady bullets and they came in a blue plastic box with Midway's name stated they were repackaged but, said Hornady no where on the box? http://www.midwayusa.com/product/47...al-jacket-round-nose-box-of-100-bulk-packaged

I ordered some rainiers bullets from them and they came in the same packaging you described. I imagine they order them in very large quantities then repackage them.

If they buy them in bulk from Hornady and break them up into smaller packages for resale then I'm guessing they would put them in their own box.

This is exactly how I got my rainiers too. I didn't mind. Got a few little boxes for small odds and ends.

They probably order something like 50,000 XTPs for a substatial lower bulk price,then have a packaging company mold and label the boxes while filling with 50 or 100 bullets,and charge more than double of what they paid for them.Classic middleman business plan.

This is kind of topic, but I ordered 100 pieces of 7mm rem mag brass and it came in a cardboard box. The brass works great though. Just sayin'

All of the 'blemished' bullets I've bought from MidwayUSA in the past have all been packaged in the blue plastic containers. I'm sure your bullets are Hornady factory firsts but the containers might be the best solution to packing since Midway may get large boxes of loose bullets.

Those little containers are handy and much more useful than the cardboard boxes factory bullets typically come in.

Yeah, I kind of figured they must have took them out of large boxes to fill it with but, just wanted some more opinions. Thanks Folks!

I will not order bullets from Midway unless it's 1 small box of 100. Their shipping dept does not know how to pack them so they survive the shipping. I had 3 large shipments 2k+ bullets in which the boxes have been dropped and busted open, bullets missing. Once you figure out how many is missing they ship out the missing one in these blue boxes. Not fun sorting 2k 115 gr from 1k 124gr. Midway shippers think the air billows will stop a 1k 115gr 9mm from damage if dropped. All that happens is the pillows blow and then the bullets start scattering.

So my guess is it's from a damaged shipment. That is the only time I've see the blue boxes. That was 3 years ago. Have not and will not order bullets from them.

I've gotten bulk bullets and bullets that are not commonly available in the blue Midway utility boxes. Otherwise everything has been in factory packaging. I don't normally buy large quantities of bullets from them unless they are on sale. Powder Valley usually beats their price by quite a bit and RMR serves my needs great for large quantities at a great price.

I was surprised to read that they will ship the missing bullets. I had a order for brass that was packed in the white boxes that was short. They gave me store credit for the brass .It was only a couple pieces said they wouldn't ship a few.

I think it depends on the type of bullet ordered. My bulk Winchester 9mm 115 gr FMJ order came in brown boxes with 100 round plastic bags inside but my Golden Saber JHP orders came in blue plastic boxes.

^^^All depends on how the manufacturer packages them. Notice that the FMJ are still in Winchester packaging while the GS are not. I've also bought Hornady 55gn FMJ from them an received them in the blue boxes because Hornady does not sell 500ct boxes and I would assume that Midway got them in drums of several k.

I also think it depends on what and how many you order. I have gotten blue boxes for Hornady .224 but the rainier I order comes in a cardboard box from rainier.

My Hornady bullets all come in the original boxes. Same with all my Rainier Ballistics bullets. I recently purchased 200 Sierra 125gr .308 Match Kings from Midway and they were repackaged.

The last bullets I ordered from Midway came in Winchester bags of 100 in a cardboard box of five bags. The previous order was for (Hornady) "blems" which were repacked into the blue plastic Midway boxes. And boy, were those "blems" blemished. Separate post to discuss.

There's equal fault there.... there is no reason your box should be hurled with force sufficient to destroy its contents

I had no trouble to identify the bullets in Midway blue boxes---they have a number on the box which is the model number of the bullet mfr. shown in their reloading book.
