Well, I've got a 6" Colt, a 2" S&W and a 3" S&W, but I am still without a 4". I am really leaning toward a 686 or a 66 (or the upcoming 666), but should I be looking at anything else? It has to be stainless, and the 686 would be able to use all the grips I already have for my 3" 66, so doesn't it seem like the natural choice? How many options are there for 5" S&W's? Thanks in advance!

I can't believe that no one has love for or opinions about 4" Smiths. I found a half lug 5" 686 on gunbroker, but are others available? Thanks!

The classic 5" barreled revolver is the S&W Model 27. You'd be hard pressed to find a stronger, better balanced revolver anywhere.

As for a 4"? Well there are just so many where does one start?

Colt Python?
S&W Model 19?
Ruger Security Six?

Just for starters you can't go wrong with any of those.
