Does the earth's rotation effect windage, and, or, elevation?

No, they spin according to the twist direction in your rifling.

Up here in the Intermountain West you get to add about 15% to your velocity because of the
reduced friction from the thinner air, and the fact that due to the elevation you are always shooting downhill.

Very little....

The guided missile I worked on in the air force had to take into account the earth rotation. We were talking 700 miles flight time.....chris3

Considering earth is rotating at some 2400 MPH

And I was thinking it was just a bit over 1000 mph..or a bit under 25000 miles in a tick over 24 hrs.
Guess I need to re readjust my scope??..

I believe they explained this on the Sniper special that may be found on the military channel, look for a re-run, it is on a lot. Sometimes seeing it makes it easier to grasp. They broke it down and showed the round starting to break in the direction of the spin at a certain distance. I believe for under 300 yards it isn't that relavent.

You might get more error in accuracy by the gyroscopic progression caused by the spin of the bullet rather than any effect by the rotation of the earth.....That error should be constant so an adjustment in sighting should cure it....chris3
