So i bought one back in april and just shot the gun for the first time today. I apparently have not broken it down or don't remember doing it.

The firing pin retaining pin is one of the solid styles not the cotter pin style and doesn't seem to come all the way out, just enough to release the firing pin. Is that accurate or am I being to gentle and afraid to push it hard?

The cam pin is flat on one side but I cannot get it to come free, it hits the gas key. I tried it both ways and no luck. I did try to pry it out with a pair of pliers and no luck. Is this piece not designed to come out or is it manufactured to large and needs to be sent back?

Thanks.

They got it together somehow.

Having to remove the gas key to access the bolt seems like it would be a nonstarter.

Take down

One of my Armalite 10s had cam pin that was hard to remove.
Small flat tip screw driver got it out with some effort.
Found a type of brake tool with a curlecue point that
works much better, pops right out.
Before Armalite sold they had a library section in which they said that some cam pins are hard to remove. Not a problem apparently.
But do not file or grind on the gas key or the cam pin.
