Does anyone know if the Model 7 uses the same firing pin assembly and bolt shroud as the M700 short action? (.308 in both)

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks. I found out late last night that the Model 7 is based on the old Rem 100(?) bolt action pistols?

The Model 7 is on the Model 600 action, which in turn was the old XP-100 action. Nothing wrong with that, but it is not the same as the Model 700 action and parts won't interchange.

The Model 7 is on the Model 600 action,

don't think so.......

the (old style)XP-100 and M-600/660 action have the triggergroup assembly mounted farther forward, and a dogleg bolt to accomodate that.

the model 7 might be a huge redesign of the old XP-100/m600 action but is is not the same thing.
