Does this brand ammo cycle through AKs alright?

It basically is made by the same places that made the stuff you're buying as surplus. Haven't had any complaints with it.

Actually so far I have not found anything my WASR will not digest happily. Just about the least picky rifle I have ever seen. If it is only $5 give it a try.

I shoot it all the time. The only problem I've seen with it is a very rare failure to fire.

It shot as good out of my AK's as the wolf in the older beige camoish box did, and has the same headstamp. My only mistake was telling people that it shot just as good and my walmart has been sold out ever since.

I have tried a LOT of different types of 7.62x39 and the only one I have ever had problems with is the blunt/soft point Prvi. Maybe 20% of the time it will cycle but usually the blunt lead just hangs up on something. Tried it in a few different AKs and the result was the same.

Never had a problem with any Russian ammo

It cycles fine, but I've noticed keyholing through my MAK, whereas I've never had that with Wolf.

No, not really. The ammo in question is obviously of Russian origin, whereas the only 7.62x39 surplus ammo widely availble in the US is of Yugoslavian manufacture. The commerical ammo is steel-cased and non-corrosive. The Yugoslavian ammo is brass-cased and corrosive. Other than both being 7.62x39, theres little in common between them. That said, either Russian commercial ammo or Yugoslavian surplus should funciton fine in any AK
