Ok, so the photo on my CWP makes me look like...

1. I've been on a week-long bender... or...

2. I'm an F.B.I. case study of a homicidal maniac-(just call me Hannibal).

It even makes my drivers license look good . The question is-

Has anyone ever heard of a CWP holder being hassled for not looking like the person in the photo? Should I have it redone?
It's probably a non-issue, but... better safe than behind bars...

(for the Mods, didn't know whether to put this here, or L & P..)

As paranoid as Califonia is you would think they would have your picture on the permit. But that would make too much sense. California CCW permits don't have photos on them. My local Sheriffs' department won't even allow you to laminate the permit. I keep it neatly folded under my DL.

Here in TN, they just pull up your DL photo and put it on the permit, so both of mine look the same. Do they look like me? Well... I never knew my head looked like a squashed basketball with a moustache until I saw the pics, but... :D

I'll have to check it to be sure (it just arrived at my parent's place, I'm still at school), but I remember having a big zit/scab right between my lip and my chin when the photo was taken, it looked like I had a mole slightly bigger than a pencil eraser.

PERMIT PHOTOS

No pictures here in N.E. PA either. "Valid without photo"

The deputies in the office did say that we could copy and laminate. I made several copies and filed them strategically. The original is safe at home in case it's needed.

It's the scanner they use to scan the photos for the CCW permits...it makes you look like a psycho. The scanner lamp is way bright so it washes out the light areas of the photo and the contrast is off so the dark areas go almost black. I distinctly remember the photo I sent and the picture on my CCW card looks like a completely different person!

NM uses the drivers license photo in the DPS computers. So mine's got a photo of me that's a couple of years old (even tho NM only started issuing permits this year).

So, I look like a rump roast (pre-Atkins).

However, since I always make it a point to get my D.L. photo taken when I'm smiling and wearing a suit (believe me, the cop will treat you better when he sees that be-suited photo of the guy in the tattered t-shirt he's pulled over in the pickup on the way to the dump on Saturday afternoon). (One time on the weekend, a cashier at the oil change place told (slovenly) me, "Hey, you look like a lawyer in your license photo!" "Well, partner," I said, "I am a lawyer." "Get out of here!," he says, looking at my weekend attire.)

My FL permit, when it comes, will have a horrible passport-style photo of me looking like a corpse (something about the lighting) - smiling, in a suit.

If it does, I feel sorry for my wife. Good thing she has poor eyesight. Beauty may only be skin deep, but ugly cuts to the bone.:uhoh:

My CCW picture actually turned out very well. Much better than my driver's license picture. I badly needed a haircut when it was taken, and I had a dopey smile so I look like a goofy, stoned hippy.

My Carry Permit photo looks exactly like me.
Sadly...
Balding, grey haired, bill board sized forehead, uncomfortably forced smile, tired eyes.
Oh well, maybe next life!

Nope, my CCW permit doesn't even look like me in the least bit. I had much longer hair which was colored at the time. Since then the color has grown out and I cut out the color. I also didn't wear my glasses when the pic was taken so when I'm wearing them I look completely different.

So nope I don't look like the person in the picture on my CCW permit.

Too bad it expires in 4 and 1/2 years I think. I'll really look different then.

Y'all have photos on your permits???

Actually since we have to have the stinking things I actually wish we had them on ours. Then we could use it as a second form of ID.
Of course most places here will accept a Costco membership card as ID. And we all know how thoroughly Costco checks on your background.

Fred Thompson, being a former US Senator and famous movie actor, I would think that you would not need to be concerned about your photo looking like you.:D
Mine has no photo, it's just a piece of white paper.

i look real goofy in my chl pic.

and now i have much shorter hair. shave it every week.
doesnt expire for 3 1/2 years tho. when it comes time for renewal, i'll redo my drivers license as well.

The funny thing with mine is ... firstly, my D/L pic is pretty goofy ... the ''usual'' .. ya know, embarrassing to show folk!!

Then ...... the CCW in fullsize form has a copy of this included ..... reduce that letter size down to not much bigger than a credit card (at least that's easy to carry and is laminated) ..... and the pic is a smudgy blur!! :p

However ... if I have to produce said licence then I'd have to show D/L with it .. I guess it's no biggie.

My local Sheriffs' department won't even allow you to laminate the permit. I keep it neatly folded under my DL.

That's funny my issueing department actually laminated mine for me. They did take my photograph for their files, however it isn't on my permit. My thumb print is on my permit how about you?

My picture was taken in January, so my face looks pale (Darn near pasty), and I look kinda sickly. My work ID is still the worst. Looks like there should be a profile shot next to it, with a little board stating my name, birthdate, etc....

Like many others here have mentioned, mine makes me look like a madman (hannibal type) also :(.

I think they do that on purpose, probably the reason they wouldn't allow me to wear my tin foil hat when they took the picture :D.

My picture looked great when they showed it to me on the computer right after taking it. But when they printed it, they compressed the photo non-proportionally, and the print process distorted the colors, too. So it makes me look pretty horrible. :(
