Dollar for a fallen officer?

A lot of you know who I am, but to those of you that don't, My name is Greg Millevoi and I am from Bucks County, PA. Recently, we just had a terrible tragedy in our area. A police officer from the Newtown Borough Police Dept. was gunned down and murdered by a drunk driving suspect at a local hospital while being taken there for blood and urine labs to test his blood/alcohol level. When he got out of the vehicle, he allegedly stole one of the policeman's gun and shot Officer James Warunek in the chest, then proceeded to fatally shoot Officer Brian Gregg in the head. The suspect, then allegedly shot a hospital EMT before shooting himself in the hand and dropping the gun. He then fled to the top floor of a parking garage at the hospital and the Police followed his blood trail to a car that was parked there and took him into custody. One of the worst things was that right before he allegedly murdered Officer Brian Gregg, he allegedly stood over him and said "Die Pig, Die." The Bucks County DA is seeking the death penalty. Officer Greg is survived by his widow and a four year old son he just adopted from guatamala. So many times in my life I wanted to do something for someone to help them and this is my chance. If everyone that gets this letter would send one dollar to me c/o Officer Brian Gregg, I'm sure it would help his family. When you think about it, one dollar isn't really that big a deal to most of us. My goal is to get 100,000 one dollar bills to present to his surviving family, anything more than that will just be a big time bonus for them. There are two hundred, seventy million people in this country, I know I can get 100,000 of you to give a dollar, make that 99,999, my dollar is already in the envelope. I understand that some may be suspicious. If you doubt the incident being referenced occurred, here is a link to a follow-up story. If you're really doubting you can look for the story yourselves at philly.com or the Philadelphia Inquirer's web site or research Bucks County, PA. instead of following my link.

As far as Greg M., as I said in my first post, he is a friend. I can only personally vouch for him and all you guys can do is read a bunch of my posts here and see if you think I'm a "scammer". All I will say is the address given is Greg's business, not his home, and he is not hurting for money.

Don't worry mods, this is my last post on the subject and if this becomes a problem thread I will understand you deleting it. I just wanted to help out a friend who is trying to do some good.

and JohnBT: another listing might show it as Millevoi Brothers Auto Centers. They have several locations in northeast Philadelphia and lower Bucks county...as I said, not scamming for money.

Your map is not correct. The business is located a little north from the plotted location at the SW corner of Frankford and Morrell. (There is also another, different gas station on the NW corner.) If you can zoom in you will clearly see a service style station. Depending on how old your photo is, you may or may not see the fuel pumps. They were taken out earlier this year and they now only do repairs, they no longer sell gas.

All this technology is great...Google...satellite photos...but did anyone just pick up the phone and call Greg to ask him about it? Please don't abuse my friend. He has a business to run and, again, is just trying to do something good for the family of an LEO killed in the line of duty. Greg's shop is in Philly but he lives in Bucks County. Please don't call if you're not interested in making a legitimate contribution either to the fund or to this thread. He did not post this here or ask me to do it. I just cut and pasted his e-mail because I thought some members might want to help. (I had thought THE HIGH ROAD was a good place to post this )

For what it's worth;

Brian Gregg was a good man and a good cop. He was what all of us here would like all cops to be. We will miss him in Bucks County. He leaves behind a wife and a 4 year old son. His funeral will be held tomorrow at noon. Please take a moment in your day tomorrow to remember him and his family. Also remember his partner that night who is recovering from a gunshot to the chest.

That is truly a terrible tragedy, and losing a loved one like that is an awful thing that no family should ever have to go through.

Unfortunately, some of our own members seem to have left The High Road in responding to it.

However, the story has a ring of truth to it, so I'll go ahead and float this.
