that domain would rake in advertising if set up in the proper format. $7k would be easily made up in ads in probably no less than a years time.

Back when I actually considered setting up a website, advertising on websites was paying something like $0.007 per hit. One millions hits and you've broken even. If only it were that simple... it isn't, but it's a far cry from completely off base.

7k is just the current price...no idea how much it will actually sell for all said and done

I guess I just didn't know they had value. I know it's not "the other site" but it blows me away. I thought all domains bought and sold for like $20. Thats M82 money right there. I guess you could make a good deal if you made AR-15's or something, probably helps with searches. It's just not something I really thought about before you know. It's like finding out there's an element on the periodic table that high school should have showed you.

those guys also run 1911.com forum. ..... I bid on the 1911.com domain name when it was auctioned back in 2007.

The domain name is 12 years old. It's a perfect domain for EBR searches and very useful for all firearms-related searches. Google (and other search engines) take domain name age, inbound links, content on the page and the name of the domain itself into account when returning search results.

That's a HECK of a domain, for a very low price.

(Disclaimer: I have connections with the seller or any interested party in this sale. I'm just an internet marketing dude who pretends to know something about search engine optimization).

I wish I was older when the first dot com boom came, I would have bought as many lucrative domains as I could and sold them later.
