Anyone have any experiences with Dominion Arms in Manassas? Any other shops in the area worth checking out?

Good guys, pretty good pricing. Lots of guns to shop from. There's another gun store further out Rt 28 - I can't remember the name, though.

Just checked and I was thinking about VA Arms in old town Manassas.
Dominion Arms is further out Rt. 28 near Gainsville. I prefer VA Arms.

There's also Guns and Ammo warehouse just further down the street on Nokesville road. Weekend hours for both are kind of scarce both close by 6PM on Saturday and VA Arms isn't open on Sundays.

The prices at Dominion are STUPID. Only Blue Ridge Arsenal is worse. He only recently dropped his Glock prices.
The advantage of Virginia Arms is their policy is: "No sale final until you're satisfied." They mean this. I returned $1400 worth of Kimber and gear a year after I bought it. They guarantee everything that goes out of their store, including used guns.

My wife and I stopped in Dominion Arms a few weeks ago. We were there about 30 minutes. The guy behind the counter never spoke to us. We left. Probably never will go back.

I'll pile on here and add another vote for Virginia Arms. They've always treated me well, whether it be a firearms purchase, transfer, accessories, or just me browsing and looking for information. Not only that, but last year my SO was looking for a handgun. The guys at VA Arms dealt directly with her, not me, to figure out what she wanted and what would work for her. I believe they even held the shop open a few minutes so she could buy her pistol after work a few days later.
Certainly good people to give our business to. You can find directions and such on their website.

I'll have add another vote for Virginia Arms over Dominion. At VA arms, the salespeople will actually stop talking to each other when a customer walks in the door. I bought one handgun at Dominion when they were in Annandale. Repeated trips to their store was very frustrating as no one seemed to want to take care of customers. Then they moved to Manassas, I didn't follow.
The folks at VA Arms know their stuff and are willing to work with anyone for whatever amount of time it takes. They've spent as much time helping me find the right box of ammo as they have when purchasing a pistol. And, their prices are better.

I like to browse the consignment section at VA Arms. Bought a couple Rugers and a new CZ from the store, along with various holsters and mags.
I live an hour away now, kinda miss it.

To be honest, Dominion Arms on Centreville Road in Manassas probably isn't worth the stop. It is primarily a surplus store with lots of worn out military clothing. I saw a rack of beater Mausers there and a couple of way-off brand pistols. The store was dirty and the staff of no help.
What is good about Dominion is that its in the same shopping center as the Yorkshire Restaurant. The York is a great old time country restaurant with killer breakfasts. It is also a story of immigration that way it is supposed to be done.
Ok, back on topic. Virginia Arms is a great gun store to browse through. Bernie is the manager and a good guy to know. His staff is responsive and they know their stuff without being arrogant. The selection is tends to be tactical rather than sporting, so don't go there looking for a selection of dove guns. For Sigs, 1911s and AR though, that's your place.
Guns and Ammo is two miles further down Rt 28. They've got a better selection as they include more sporting arms. I don't know these guys as well as Bernie's team.
Im summary, VA and then G&A in that order, and skip Dominion.

Another thumb's up to VA Arms. Even though I'm a MD resident and pretty much just browse when I'm there, the staff has always taken the time to answer questions and to let me handle stuff.
I've bought a fair amount of accessories there. My brother wanted a new grip for a pistol and the man behind the counter took a fair amount of time to wrestle with the old grip getting it off and putting the new one on.
I've been there when he had someone on the phone and he told them that he had to take care of his customers in the store but he would be glad to phone back in a few minutes to answer any questions that the phone customer had.

Yes, the fella did this, AT NO CHARGE.
That's service that I've rarely seen in any store, not just gun stores.
This guy took 25 minutes to remove my old grip and install a new one, and made sure that I actually liked it.......all for a $20 sale. And he did this without ignoring any other customers.
I wish I lived in VA. Three thumbs up for VA Arms.
Another shop not so much in the area is Loudoun Guns in Leesburg, VA. I'm hit or miss with them....went in the first time and stood there with my buddy for 20 minutes trying to get someone to help us. Left.

Another good word for VA Arms. My SO recently bought a used Beretta Vertec from them. She had been interested in trying one out for a while. The sales guy who helped her gave her great service. The price was very good. I'm cash poor right now, but my next firearm will almost certainly come from them.
I bought a RRA lower from Virginia Arms, they are good folks. I have bought a lot more stuff from Guns and Ammo wharehouse though including a lefty Stag, RIA 1911 and a Beretta Neos. They have a great staff and are very helpful. G&A also have a large selection of 5.11 gear as well. There is also a Airsoft store a few doors down from G&A to keep the curtain climbers busy

I know this is a little further north for most of you, but don't forget Gilberts in Lorton. Good staff once you get to know them.
Another +1 experience with VA Arms.
Went in there last night....had a broken trigger spring in my G19. Rob swaped in a new one for no cost. Even broke down my slide and replaced the other springs as preventative maintenance.
I felt bad getting something for nothing so I bought a Ruger Mark III from him and went on my way.
Those guys have been very helpful for me.

You know, it might have been Dawson's and not Dominion that I was thinking of. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was now that you say the name. They were near the intersection of Duke (Little River Tpk) and Columbia Pike. They moved to Pr. William County sometime around 2000 or so.
