IMO the cerakote looks very much the same. With that said, DLC/PVD/Ion Bond works fine with Alum frames.

Also IMHO the finish on mine is no where near as "textured" as yours. I also considered Birdsong Black T but the reality it that they all wear if you actually use the gun as intended. Guns that are going to be used as tools are going to show wear.

My Ion Bond 1911 still shows wear. I take pretty pics when I first get them before I put them to work.
