Good Morning!
I'm new to this forum but I thought some of you might get a kick out of seeing my newly rebuilt BHP. I've had a Silver Chrome HP for years but didn't shoot it much because it ate my hand. Ray Harms at Ted Yost's shop tuned it into this:

Work done:
Strip hardchrome
High-cut front strap
Stipple front strap
Stipple rear strap
Bevel magwell
Mag disconnect removed
Trigger reset modification to .090 travel
Trigger job with C&S sear and Type II hammer
Welded on beavertail
Rear end of gun blended smooth
Flat top of slide and serrate at 40 LPI
Heinie front sight with gold line
Heinie rear sight (wrapped to slide contour, reserrated, notch opened up to
.140)
Recrown barrel
Reliability tune (included taking hump out of feed)
Custom extended thumb safety
Complete dehorn
Spegel grips (Cocobolo)
Satin matte bead blast
Blued finish

And this is what it looks like now:

The photos don't do it justice but it is VERY nice!!

Matt:
That is one beautiful pistol. At first, I thought the front strap had skateboard tape, but actual stippling on the pistol is amazing. How does the stippling feel on the hand when you shoot it. I've never seen a beavertail on a high power (looks nice). Was hammerbite one of the reasons why you got a beavertail put on the BHP? BTW, great holsters. :)

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL, Matt.

I don't suppose you'll have a problem finding a nice holster. :)

Matt-

Welcome! Glad to see that your retirement plans are working out. We talked a few years ago when I was in search of a single mag pouch for my USP 9C. When I saw the quality, I kicked myself for not getting the holster. :banghead:

Cool part is, the pouch fits the magazines for my P-2000SK.

Is your backlog up to a year yet? :D

For those who aren't familiar with his work, Matt does some truly wonderful and magnificent things with leather.

Safety First: Well, it's kinda like the cobblers shoes but I'll try to build one for myself when I get a chance.

KLR:Thank you! Yep, I'm staying out of trouble. Right now I'm building orders from May of 2004 but on new orders (judging by the number of orders on the books) I'm probably about 10 months or so out.

scubie02: Thanks!
