Deer season opens up soon, I left all the milsurps home and took out my Marlin 336 and eighty rounds of 150g sp. I set up a target at about 100 yds, sat down and had a ball. 30-30 is a great shooting round and the 336 is a fine rifle. The size is perfect for a tree stand or brush gun, accuracy is very good, the action smooth and rugged, the handling and balance pleasing, and overall a great gun. I tend to shoot my milsurps and leave the 336 at home, but when I want venison its the gun I use.
