I won an auction on GunBroker.com for a large ring Mauser barrel in .257 Roberts. It took 2 weeks to be delivered(I paid with a cashier's check). It arrived today. I gleefully opened the package and found.......a Martini Cadet barrel with target sights in 32-20 caliber:what: Now I gotta wait longer while MY barrel is located and arrangments made to get it delivered as well as returning this barrel (it is nice but I don't need or want it):(

The way I look at it, mistakes do happen. As long as the seller makes reasonable effort to make things right, I'll overlook it on the feedback form. I look at it sort of how Gunbroker words it: it's a measure of the seller's professionality. If the seller admits their mistake and makes it right, that is fully professional in my book.

I have no doubt that the seller will make it right. I didn't name them as they are a well known company and have a good reputation. Downing the seller is NOT the purpose of this thread. I am dissapointed in the situation. I want to get my project rifle going and this could be a long delay. I will report how this ends and I fully expect to be complimenting the seller whom I will name at the conclusion.

Stuff happens, and it is aggravating, but it will probably be resolved to your satisfaction. I certainly hope it's cleared up soon. Let us know.

Seller called by telephone last night. Said they had issued a pick-up order to UPS for the Martini barrel. Wife talked to them (I was at work). Still don't know where my barrel is.

I did think of that,ArmedBear, but somehow I didn't think there was a snowball's chance in a very hot place of it happening. It was a nice thought though.

UPS just picked up the Martini barrel so maybe my barrel will arrive soon. So far I'm pleased with the seller's handling of the mix-up. I just wish they would communicate a little more.

Got an e-mail yesterday, said my barrel had been shipped. Over a month... Still did not include a tracking number, even though I specifically asked for one.

Sorry browningguy, the Martini barrel was sold to another buyer when it was erroneously send to me. It has since been shipped to the correct buyer.

Barrel arrived today at 12:30pm CDT. 30 days to the day. The seller was J&G Sales in Arizona. To their credit the barrel is in excellent condition. Communication sucked though. Just happy to finally have my barrel. This mix-up plus their policy of requiring ALL of their customers to be at least 21 yo is why,I would hesitate to buy from them again. Not saying that I wouldn't though.
