I just purchased a new Ruger MK III Target with 5 1/2" bull barrel and I am looking for a sight upgrade. As others have stated the black on black sight picture makes it hard to see, especially at an indoor range. I've searched on this forum and have seen seen the hi-viz "light tube" type designs but want to know if there are any Novak-type or Glock-type sights for the Mark III. I've seen the v-notch upgrade on the Ruger website but I don't like the light tube for the front sight. I'm not ready for a red-dot yet since I'd like to get decent with iron sights first.

There is some glow in the dark "sight paint" I have seen but there's not a real accurate way to apply it to the existing sights that I can think of. Any suggestions are appreciated.

What you look at on black-on-black sights are the edges as they intersect the target. What I've done is put some sight paint on the back top of the front sight. This makes it easier to line up in an indoor range. Color choice is up to you. White, orange, yellow and green are all good.
