Took the Nylon 66 out today for the first time in a couple of years. Shooting Blazers, which it normally likes. I wants to feed 2 rounds on the first, MANUAL action of the bolt. Does not do this when firing and I can move the bolt verrrrry sloooooowly and caaaaarefulllllly and make it feed correctly, sometimes.

Any ideas?

Can you field strip it? If so, clean it, using a good spray cleaner like G96 Gun Treatment or one of the "crud buster" cleaners followed by the Gun Treatment. It sounds like the cartridge release is sticking, probably from old powder residue and bullet wax.

That is my thought also. I don't have the manual on this one any more, since the fire. I do remember that it is easy to get it broken down, but getting the bolt/trigger assy out is a bit more complicated. Hmmmmm research time, I guess. :D

I did spray some Ballistol in there and work things around, but it didn't help.

Feeding is when the bolt moves the round into the chamber.

In a perfectly functioning weapon it can only feed one round at a time.

What most firers experience and call DOUBLE FEEDING is a failure to extract (the brass cartridge) while the weapon cycles and feeds the second round where the first should not be...hence, there is no such thing as double feeding.

It is an improper term....and one that could NEVER happen with belt fed ammo. :D

Inasmuch as I had left the belt-fed Nylon 66 at home, I was making do with the original, tube-fed little beasti.

Since the double feed was only on the FIRST MANUAL OPERATION AFTER LOADING, there was no fired case in the chamber to stove pipe, fail to eject, fail to extract or otherwise remain in the path of the incoming round being fed from the tube. The SECOND round in the tube would immediately follow along with its FIRST brother and try to accompany it into the chamber. Thus, there would be two unfired rounds in the path of the returning bolt.

I call this a double feed. I apologise for misleading you, sir. :D
