Put $$ down on Double Star AR15 ($499.95 new in box) today...interested in what might want to know about Double Star Company AR15? Thanks, Jim Hathaway in AZ
 
They are like most of your other AR’s . They build them for good parts that the buy or have made for them.
They were selling them at a higher price for a while, about one or two hundred above a S&W Sport II. You got yourself a good deal.

I have a DS upper in 6.8 spc. It must be a thirsty 300 yard rifle because it keeps hitting soda cans at that range. Past that I’m not good enough at range estimation to really make good hits as that round starts loosing steam quickly, but that is by far my most accurate upper, and current claims the title for most accurate gun in the safe. I expect to remedy that when my .270 is back in action with new optics and a new load workup with trimmed, annealed brass.

I have the AGL A.C.T. trigger in two of my other rifles and like them very much, but I would give the Hiperfire EDT2 trigger a slight edge. Both companies make more advance triggers but for the price point that both these triggers fall in, they are the best bang for the buck.
 
I have had 3 Double Stars. One bought as a complete rifle and two bought as carbine kit's. I've had zero issues with them. Nice solid AR's. They sell parts as www.jtdistributing.net

Thanks for that Dallas Jack;;;makes me feel better about my pending purchase........I figured why should I spend big money on a Ruger, S&W or Colt AR15?

Redbone thanks for that....I was worried that Double Star might be a cheapo, but I handled it and looked at the more expensive ones and decided to try the Double Star.........can't wait to shoot it...........

Really easy to do might near anything on an AR. Trigger swap takes rolling the upper forward on the takedown pins, popping out the 2 pins in the lower reciever, and then holding your mouth JUUUSSSTTT right to line everything back up to reinsert the pins with the new trigger. A lot of times you have to remove the safety, but that’s as easy as taking off the pistol grip to drop the detent pin out of the track that locks it in place. It’s easier done than explained. Lots of good videos on YouTube will show the process.

Hmm... Kentucky boy with an Anderson lower (Ky) and a Doublestar upper (Ky) in 6.8spc (developed at Ft Campbell KY 15 miles from where I grew up. I actually met some of the guys who did development and testing) it just seems right to me. I love my rifle, and it means a lot to me. The lower was one of the first birthday gifts I got from my wife as well.

WestKY: I'm a Hoosier, but I associate Winchester with the Gorge, where I spent many weekends in years gone by. That area is superb. I understand the Gorge is a lot more popular now than it used to be. My first visit was in the 70s, and they didn't even have trail signs up.
