I have two Ruger Speed-Six .357 Magnum revolvers with 2.75" barrels. They are, to say the least, wonderful handguns with awesome triggers. One is my CCW and the other is my Home Defense gun and I value them.
I understand they are not quite as beefed up as the Ruger GP-100 with the crane lock, etc. Anyway, I have been looking at some very stout .357 Magnum ammunition to load up for when I am back in the woods. This is not for hunting purposes...it is just so when I am way out working, hiking or camping that I have something to even the odds against surprise visitors here in the South/Southeast...both 4 and 2 legged.
Will 180 grain Buffalo Bore http://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=100, Double Tap http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_27&products_id=151, or Federal CastCore Vital-Shok http://www.federalpremium.com/products/details/handgun.aspx?id=327 ammo damage these guns if shot in moderate amounts?
Below is a picture of a Speed-Six. It is, of course, not my revolver. But, mine physically looks just like this one with the addition of a Hogue style grip.
Thanks....
