I am converting an Remington 1100 12GA to something similar to the Remington TAC-4 and if the barrel profile won't work with the stock Walnut Stock (that I plan to use) is there any downside to using a synthetic Monte Carlo stock???

The reason I ask is that if I change to a synthetic stock AND if I would like an R-3 recoil pad (Limbsaver)...I have found them on the Monte Carlo stocks (New Old Stock) but not on the SpeedFeed "sport stock" that you usually see for the 1100s...

I don't think I want to go aftermarket (RamLine or similar) and I know SpeedFeed at least made some of the stocks for Remington (I have seen different types)...

Anyone know who makes the Monte Carlo synthetic stock??? I see that SpeedFeed lists different part numbers for the 1100 and 11-87 but Remington uses the same stock (I suspect another manufacturer) number for their 1100 and 11-87 synth stock...

Any light you care to share would be appreciated...

If you ever get attacked by rising clay pigeons, they'll be easier to hit -- but only if you practice with the gun set up that way.:D
