????? quick release scope mount
=
correct mount

need to know what QR scope mount i can use on that rifle.. will be replacing rear iron sight with some type of folding BUIS (troy maybe?)

thanks

There are too many good ones to count with both shoes on.

Your rifle will accept any standard Picatinny/Weaver style QD rail mount made for the AR-15 family of rifles.
Or, any high Weaver style clamp-on rings will clamp directy to the flat top rail with thumb-screws or QD levers.

well throw out some suggestions.. this is new to me.. lol
once i remove the rear sight.. are there any considerations i need give to the height of the mount? most of the QR ones ive seen look low.. which is fine.. the front sight post will blur completely out?

thanks

you can put your shoes back on, dude. there's only one to count. larue. do NOT use A.R.M.S.

Not fine if you can't get your head down on the straight-line AR stock to see through the scope.

Generally speaking, you use high scope rings or a QD mount + 1/2" riser block to get that high.
The center line of the scope needs to end up about where the iron sight aperture is to be able to see through it.

LaRue is real good. And real costly.

You can accomplish pretty much the same thing for a range toy with a set of high QD scope rings.

The front sight will become invisible at high power scope magnification.
Kind of a "ghost image" at low power.

The minimum focal range of the scope is much further away then the front sight, so the scope can't focus that close on it to see it clearly, or even see it at all at higher power.

From Larue's website
This mount is in the same design family as our popular SPR 1.5 mount (LT104), except it is 1.93" above the rail in order to get riflescopes (like the S&B ShortDot) up above top-mounted laser/illuminators like PEQ-2's and PEQ-15's... It is as simple as that. If you do NOT need the clearance over a laser/illuminator, order the LT104.

I'd call them and tell them what your doing, exact scope and rifle, and make sure that's the mount you want.

LaRue Tactical SPR / M4 Scope Mount QD LT-104
Remove LT104-1 LaRue Tactical SPR / M4 Scope Mount QD LT-104
