Kind of reminds of McCandles gun shop in Burkburnett in 60s. I liked to go in that place and look around for hours. They had about everything from the civil war and a few surplus military rifles.

You could also buy suplus 3006 by the hand full or paper bag full. Sadly it closed in the early 70s and is now a Burkburnett City park.

My faves are the CSA replicas, like the more exotic Le Mats, J.W. Dance, and Tucker Sherrod Dragoon sized revolver. My gggpaws ranch/cotton plantation was a days ride from the factory in Lancaster, Texas and his journal makes mention that he had traded for a .44 Dragoon model after the ACW. What I dont understand is how you load it since it appears it had no loading aperture. I guess it was loaded with the cylinder off, or perhaps the clearance between the cylinder face and the barrel lug was just big enough to allow loading off the charge and .44 cal rb to br rammed home. It looks like on-gun loading of conicals was near impossible.
Also, I have heard that Uberti made these odball repros 20 years ago, and perhaps even Armi San Marco.

What say Ye Pards familiar with this shooter...Fingers????

Dennis Adler's Colt Blackpowder Reproductions & Replicas says the Uberti "Texas Confederate Dragoon" "Tucker, Sherrard, and Co." was discontinued in 1994.
