I bought my first new handgun in 1976, a Ruger Super Single Six Convertible with 6 1/2" barrel. Over the years I have shot 10's of thousands of rounds through this fine single action revolver, both cylinders.
I have prided myself on the care I have given it but decided to spruce it up a bit. Here it is just as the day I bought it and before I started work on it:
It has this inscription on the top of the barrel, the only year this was done (and cannot be replaced with an inscripted barrel if I damage this one):
Then I added a pair of rosewood grips and hi-viz sights from the accessory section of the Ruger site (which I just discovered). I had to show it with my prized .45 Colt Bisley with Altamont rosewood grips just to show the family resemblance:
The hi-viz sights are fantastic and the Single Six still puts six rounds in a spot I can cover with a quarter at 10 yards.
Man, I love Ruger single actions.
