On a Ruger Single Six .22 LR is there any special years that they came with a "Patridge sight". In one issue of the Blue Book it shows an older Single Six with the "Patridge sight" & to the best of my memory a 6 1/2 in. barrel. I know I saw the Hunter version of the Super Single Six with a bead Patridge sight about 2 years ago. I also think I recall seeing a Bisley Single Six with the Patridge. I guess my question is has that been a feature offered all along with limited production or was it only offered in certain years? I do like the sight picture they offer but finding one vs. the ramp seems quite hard to do ..............

I bought my Super Single Six in the 70's with such a sight. Since then I have only seen one other with the Patridge front sight. So yes, I would say they were produced only for a short period of time before switching to the ramp.

If you don't mind please look at your Single Six front sight and see if it appears to be the same sight as used on a Ruger MK II Target with a bull barrel. I would just about make a bet that Ruger used the same target front on both guns unless the barrel contour was incorrect on the Single Six. It might be easier for me to replace the front sight on a Single Six than find one that came with the Patridge from the factory. I am looking for something a little out of the ordinary anyway as I am trying to find a stainless, 4 3/4 barrel with the patridge front and they may not have even made one.
