Drifting Front Sight

What's the preferred method / tools to drift a dove-tailed front sight on a rifle?

Brass punch/ vise with copper jaws or buy a sight pusher from midway or brownells.

Also, drift from left to right when looking from the breech end !

A sight pusher is preferred but a punch and a plastic mallet is what usually gets used.
"...vise with copper jaws..." Copper will mark and/or scratch the finish. 8 oz plus leather does not.
"...drift from left to right..." Depending on which way the group needs to go. Moving the front sight left to right will move the group to the left.
