All good but who's you're personal favorite?...any others that have served you well?

All are very high quality. I like the Wilson beavertail, but there is no functional difference between them. Buy what suits your hand and eye.

It really depends. Some of the Clark stuff I prefer over the others and likewise with Wilson, Brown, or McCormicks. It really boils down to what your personal preference is. It can get pricey buying 3 or 4 of everything and then shipping the rest back. Ask me, I know. AND, Brownells is pretty cool about that too.

dacinokc,

Can you tell us what is better about the construction of the Ed Brown parts compared to the Wilson parts? I'd like to know myself.

I think all the McCormick parts are MIM now. I know most of the Wilson and Brown top-end parts are tool steel.

Thanks,
Steve

We use a lot of Ed Brown parts over the others mention just because we feel tolerances are better...

For fire control parts we use C&S....

I've only done this 2x, both with Wilson parts. I just wanted to get beavertail grip safties put in for less than $125. I bought the drop-in parts and, guess what, they didn't drop in. Had to pay $25 to have a gunsmith fit them to the guns. Still I think all said and done I paid about $75 parts/shipping/labor and it was a good deal. Cost me $150 (part and installation) to have a beavertail put in on my Government model years ago. The frame had to be milled, but this guy did an awesome job, the best work I've ever seen.
