So, I was atop a four story building doing some work last night. The loudest sound in the world is your cheap nylon holster going "rip," followed by the thud of the pistol at your feet as it slides off the sloped roof, bashes into the (angled) concrete abutment below, skids under the fence, and lands in the river.

:banghead:

It was my beloved PX4 Storm (9x19). It sat at the bottom of the Brandywine overnight until I could return the following morning with a boat and some diving gear to look for it. I found it, brought it back up, and shook the water out of it. Still works fine, even the ammo that was in it at the time. It's got a blemish on the magazine release button, as if you could tell, and nowhere else. Thanfully!

It's already taken its requisite bath in methyl, and I'm detail stripping it and working on getting all the river silt out of the magzine at the moment.

Boy do I feel like a bonehead.

IT Fell from a four story building and is unharmed thats sweet:) i droped my GLOCK 30 Once When Clearing it a Pawn Shop One Day i Released the slide with a bad grip on the pistol and it fell outa my hand and hit the ground i look at it and said :cuss: :banghead no mess no fuss

"The loudest sound in the world..."

Glad your Storm is O.K. Speaks well for the gun. But- to me, the loudest sound would be, in a life-or-death situation, your gun going "click". Not good.

sorry to hear it, I droped mine for the first time today. I was out shooting and using my thigh holster, and when i put my xd in the holster I didn't snap it shut, and i was bending down to do something and it came out, it might of fell a foot, on soft ground, so i didn't hurt anything, but i was pissed!

When I first got my PT145 MP, I must have dropped that thing on the concrete floor of the basement a half dozen times in the first week. I swear it must have been covered in Pam.

Always a sickening feeling when they fall on a hard surface.

I can top that. I dropped my 28 hour old G27 in the toilet. Fortunately, I was on my way to drop a daisy cutter in Porcelain Harbor not on the way back up.

It's an odd thing to see a black pistol underwater against the contrasting white porcelain bowl. :what:
