i was at target world the local range/gun shop. and a guy comes in and asks the guy working what a good HD gun was. and the guy quickly grabbed a 12 guage with a short barrel (not sure what exactly). held if for like 2 seconds and said ok i'll take it.

I at the time was holding a FABARMS FP6 with pistol grip, and politly told the guy i would perefer this because of the pistol grip and pump handle that are easy to grip even with swaety palms (which is likely to happen if someone is in your house.)

well this is where things got weird.

I hand it to him and said good I'll take this too. he starts to get real skakey and nervous he then asks me if this will shoot thru a door? and pulls out the thickest stack of 100 dollar bills i have seen in my life ($5,000-$10,000 my guess) then proceeds to ask for 2 rifles and 2 handguns.

so my buddy and i decided it was a good time to leave.

just my guess but somebody had some problems in the drug bussiness and some folks after him and he wanted to be ready.
 
sounds like mafia.ida left there and stayed away from there awhile.i had the unfortunate moment of accidently walking in on one of their dinners at a fancy resteraunt.place was a maze of small rooms and hallways.the 2 guys that stood in the doorway put their hands on their chests and gave me a wieerd look when i turned into that room.i realized this was not the room i was at earlier and apolagized.gave me the creeps.i told my wife what happened and said were outta here,they can have their sinatra music and food.
 
well we did leave pretty quick, so i don't know if he passed. so i have been watching the news to see if anything sounds like it could fit.

and a breaking story they found a man dead in his house but aren't releasing any info. so the news interviewed the neighbor and said the man had been shot before quite recently. so we will see.
 
Why is it always the bad news that we hear on T.V.? You never hear about a drug deal that went just fine and everybody went home with their drugs and/or money.:D
 
Yes, jumping to conclusions and assuming the worse of people is the way to go... :rolleyes:
 
Assumptions can be deadly, folks. In more than one way.

Years ago, in an abnormal psychology class we were studying anti-social behavior disorder...what was once termed sociopathy. In answer to someone's question, the professor remarked that while sociopaths tend to be above average in intelligence that all we know about the disorder was learned from the ones who have been caught and that he was quite sure that there were sociopaths who were never caught and will never be caught. In other words, he believed that all we knew about the disorder came from the sloppy, lazy, and relatively less intelligent sociopaths.

Same thing goes for criminals, folks. There are career criminals out there with no conviction or arrest records.

Want to bet that there's not criminals out there who own legal firearms? Who carry with a legal permit?

I wouldn't take that bet.

jumping to conclusions maybe but i felt it was the best idea to get out of the situation so that's what i did.

now had i called the police and reported the strange behavior then that would have been overboard.

Hehe, I'm just joshing ya Black92LX. He did say a home defense gun right? Everyone has the right to defend their home, no harm there even if it is a real immanent danger. People do get threatened.

Now it he'd have asked for a "playground assault weapon"... :what:

No, we shouldn't jump to conclusions. But Black92 was there and we were not.
His instincts told him something was wrong. If his instincts said something wasn't right, then I'd trust those instincts.
 
One thing that pisses me off is that in our society today (and especialy in the eyes of the government) "pay with cash" = "criminal"

I'm surprised that in this group the attitude still persists

cash is one thing but we are talking about a stack of at least $10,000. this from a very skittish guy in a gun shop wanting to buy 5 guns that shoot thru doors. my instincts told me to get out so i did. i didn't report the strange behavior or think about it much after i left.

not only did i feel uncomfotable but so did the guy working at the shop. he dilberatly lifted his shirt to show the man that he was carrying.
 
I had a guy at a gun show offer me $300 to buy him 2 S&W .357, they would have gone for $850 for the two of them. I said no. but they guy behind me said yes and a BIG wad of cash came out of the guys pocket and he gave the guy the cash and he bought the "gacks" for the dude. They went out side and the guy got his $300 and the dude left with 2 .357
in his hands. DUMB.
 
If I were carrying 10 kilobucks as pocket money, I'd probably be a bit skittish and want a few long arms as well.

Another scenario is that this was a well-off gentleman who had recently received a threat on his life, and without knowing anything about how much a weapon would cost or anything about guns decided to get several immediately.

Before you say "No way! He was wearing ....", remember that not everyone with substantial amounts of legal money wears clothing traditionally associated with that group. In the upcoming years, I hope to be living proof of this.
 
that is a very possible scenerio. he could have been very well off, but it was just a very strange situation that i thought it would be best to remove myself and my friend from.

i really wasn't juding him, i was juding more the situation and it was one that i just didn't want to be in. most of you would have probably done the same in that situation.

Of course, a shady character is a shady character.

However, it hasn't stopped me from talking with a guy in a jogging suit driving a Cadillac. :D
 
Like drug dealers don't already have guns?

Pass the background check, you deserve the gun. Something gets missed, then it's the system, not the purchaser that needs fixing.

Unfortunately, most people's first (and possibly 2nd & 3rd) gun purchases are usually based on TV/movie/BS hearsay, and on performance specifications for military/police environments -not the true likely applications. We've heard claims about 'perfect weapons' & techniques by novices/ninjas/gunstore commandoes who are clueless. This guy may be bad, but he may also just be an idiot.
 
Something I've seen done more than once. Some guy's got a thousand bucks. Ten one hundred dollar bills. Takes one to the bank and get one hundred ones. Takes five one hundred dollar bills and puts them on top. Put four on the bottom. It looks like he's got one hell of a roll there.

At one time this was called a "Philadelphia Roll" but I suspect the term has pretty much died out as American English is homogonized.:(

in the age of Identity theft an gun grabbers background checks an credit reports always give the case of the nerves
