Dry Firing an AK?

Ok, I know AKs are extremely durable, and this is probably a stupid question, but I' just want to verify that they can be dry-fired repeatedly i.e. dry fire practice. What parts will this wear, and how much wear will it cause over time?

You wont be hurting anything that cant be replaced for under 20 bucks.

i do it all the time, going to the range a couple times a week just doesnt cut it for me.. I lost my license for awhile, so its hard for me to get to the range as often as I want.. probably a good thing, cant afford to go as much as I'd like to anyway!

how else are you gonna know that the mag is empty??? a new hammer will be $6 if you ever manage to break it...
